Here's another piece done with acrylics and paint pens (same materials as this one). I find it sooooo liberating to use a different material, one that is less fussy. I painted the background of this one outside in my backyard, and the wind kept blowing dust and dirt and bits of dried leaves onto my drying paint. Once they were dry I had to use sandpaper to get the bits off. I liked the rough results, so I didn't repaint them.
I used to draw this style of figure all the time 10 or more years ago, and it's been finding its way back into my work. It's a handy 'device' for expressing so many things. I wanted to be able to make a very simple painting about love, how it radiates, but without making it too cutesy. This fellow helped me out with that.
This piece is sold.
