20 bones for 20 bones

20 bones for 20 bones. That's right: I will make you a drawing of 20 bones for $20. Buy one here, for a limited time (5x7 inches, ink on Bristol paper).

(For my friends who speak English as a second language, "Bones" is slang for Dollars.)

I'm always looking for ways to make art more accessible. Easy to enjoy, easy to buy. And I'm amused by the stereotype portrayed in movies of the artist giving so much of him/herself that there's nothing left. They put their own flesh and blood and bones into their work. So these are my bones, drawn for you.

everything's gonna be super duper

Signed prints available for $20.

I drew this as a reminder for myself. Everybody has bad days and bad weeks and bad months and things don't always go the way we want them to and we start to feel like it's always going to be crappy from now on for ever and ever but it's not. Hang in there. Super duper is around the corner.

Ink and watercolour on paper, 5x7 inches. (The original drawing is sold.)

do not disturb

Available as a signed, 8x10 print.

I think we all have these days at least once in a while.

This post-it note drawing is an old favourite of mine. I drew it back when I worked as a graphic designer in a cubicle at a software company. I would often get tired of the office's open concept, with people constantly wandering into each other's workspaces, wanting to gossip or natter away about nothing. I'm not anti-social, it's just that sometimes you just want to get work done. The managers that extol the virtues of open workplaces are the ones who have offices with doors that close and lock.

custom drawings of objects reading books

UPDATE: I'm not doing these anymore. It was super fun for a while, but it wasn't sustainable. I hope to develop another custom order format, so stay tuned!

--------------------

You pick the object and the book, and I'll draw it. That's right. I'll draw whatever object reading whatever book you want, and I'll paint it too, all on a nice 8x10 inch piece of acid-free watercolour paper.

After I made the original series of objects reading books, I started thinking about creating custom versions. Books are such a personal thing, and if you get to choose what the object and the book is, well, you end up with a bit of an interesting portrait. It could be a nice gift.

This is the first time I've offered to do personal commissions. I've stayed away from doing them in the past, mostly because I simply haven't had the time or I'm worried they don't work out as well as I'd like (I worry a lot). But making them in a format like this works for me.
