okay let's do this - an ideal temporary tattoo for getting hitched

Tattly wedding

I never thought my Okay Let's Do This temporary tattoo (from Tattly) would play a role in a wedding, but here it is. I guess it's a pretty appropriate saying for a couple about to tie the knot.

I found this on the Wedding Bells magazine site (via this Buzzfeed article, thanks to @OhNoWereFalling). Photography by Jayme Morrison.

Check for other available drawings and signed prints in the shop.

holiday gift time

Yup, it's that time of year again when we're looking for nice gifts for the people we care about (including ourselves). So I thought I'd put together a collection of some of the things I've got available around the webs:

Signed Prints

Looking for prints, but not sure which one to get? Here's a collection of top sellers and favourites from my shop:

There are over 80 different prints available now, including a series of objects reading books, and a set of cooking-themed images. They're all signed by me.
Don't wait too long! To receive your signed prints by Christmas, please order before...
Canada: Dec. 13th
USA: Dec. 11th
Rest of the beautiful world: Dec. 4th

Society6 shop

Society6 has added mugs and kids' tees and onesies, and they've updated their tote bags. And of course there's iphone cases and skins, t-shirts, framed prints and more.

Oh, and they've got free worldwide shipping on almost everything from now until December 2nd!

Tattly

Temporary tattoos from Tattly are absolute terrificness. And only $5 per pack.

Ohh Deer: cards and pillows and more

This year I partnered with Ohh Deer, a UK-based company, to offer a collection of greeting cards, cushions, prints and more. They sell online as well as through retailers in the UK and elsewhere. So if you are in Europe, they might be a good place to order from.

+++++++

There's more (like my book), but I don't want to overdo it (I'm sure I already have!). I've created a page dedicated to everything of mine that's available online. Just click the big blue rectangle below to see it. Oh, and happy holidays!

Got a tattoo of my work?

You've got a tattoo based on a drawing of mine that you saw on the internet. Or maybe you're just thinking about it. I want you to know that I am truly honoured. Truly!

I have always allowed my work to be tattooed. And people seem to really like that. I also believe that if you enjoy an artist's work it's always great to support them in some way.

So I'm making it easy and simple to do so with a pay-what-you-want support page. No Paypal account required, just a credit card and boom that's it. And you decide what the tattooed artwork is worth. It's like I'm passing the hat around after a busking performance (hat tip to Amanda Palmer). Only instead of me juggling torches or singing Neil Young songs, you've got art on your body from me for the rest of your life.

If you have a tattoo and you've bought prints or drawings from me, hey, that's a great way to support what I do as well.

(And please keep emailing me photos of your tattoos.)

You and I are at the forefront of how artists work in the age of the internet. This is uncharted territory. But this feels right, which is why I'm doing it.

So if you've got one of my drawings tattooed, or you're thinking about it, consider a monetary gesture of goodness. I'll throw in a free little ebook to make it even more fun.

(of course, if you can't commit to a real tattoo like me, there's always my temporary tattoos from Tattly)

new book now available on Amazon

Yay! My new book, I made these drawings for you, is now available on six Amazon sites. Get it here:
Amazon.com
Amazon.co.uk
Amazon.de
Amazon.fr
Amazon.it
Amazon.es
CreateSpace

In case you missed it, read more about the book and see photos of some inside pages.

I priced it at exactly $25 (instead of the usual 24.95) on Amazon.com so that you'd qualify for free shipping without having to buy anything else. I think it meets the free shipping threshold on some of the European sites as well.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to get it on the Amazon.ca site, for my fellow Canadians. I'm sorry! The service I used, CreateSpace, gets it onto the 6 Amazon sites listed above, and none of the others. I was going to offer the book directly myself but it would cost just as much (maybe more) for me to ship to a Canadian address as it would for Amazon.com to ship to a Canadian address. Maybe in the new year I'll get something sorted out.

Also, for some reason the author is "Mr. Marc Johns". Not sure why the formality is there. I guess it's because I am a thousand years old, so the extra prefix is warranted.

Inked Magazine article

Inked Magazine has a full page article about my work in their November issue.

Now before you say "but Marc, you're not a tattoo artist!", to which I would say you're absolutely right, the magazine often features a variety of artists and designers from different genres. Which makes sense, because people who are interested in tattoos are going to be interested in art.

On a related note (and I did mention this to the interviewer), I don't have any tattoos myself. I don't think I could ever commit to a specific image to be on my skin for life. I'm too afraid that I'd get sick of it and want to change it, because I feel like I'm always changing. But I guess that for some people, a tattoo is like a souvenir, a reminder of a certain period in one's life. So that as you evolve as a person and move through life, you'll always have a reminder on your skin of a certain time and place that was significant.

Thanks for the great feature, Inked Magazine & Kara Pound!
